ASUS RT-AC68U router review

ASUS RT-AC68U is an 802.11ac Wi-Fi router, which provides the speed of data transmission up to 5 GHz comparable with a capacity of Gigabit Ethernet wired connection. 802.11n interface with its capacity in the range of 2,4 GHz speeds up to 600 Mbps while using the compatible network equipment. Such results are possible due to Broadcom® TurboQAM™ technology.
The modern dual-core processor allows reaching the high speed of data processing. It allows providing stable HD video stream. In addition, it provides ideal sound quality of a VoIP and stable online gaming.

Additionally the availability of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 sockets provide the connection of printers, external drives and 3G/4G-modem that expands the functionality of the device. For example, the ASUS AiCloud technology allows turning external hard drives connected to RT-AC68U into cloud storage of data, which provides the possibility of a remote access from any computer, the smartphone or the tablet.


The files on external drives updated automatically to latest versions due to AiCloud technology in sync mode with the routers connected to compatible ASUS routers. This procedure allows optimizing an exchange of huge files.

Convenient and intuitive ASUSWRT interface helps to operate all it’s functions. This technology helps to organize monitoring of an IP traffic and capacity limitation of an Internet for stand-alone programs.

The general speed of data transmission of ASUS RT-AC68U router is up to 1900 Mbps (1300 Mbps at 5 GHz due to the 802.11ac standard and up to 600 Mbps at 2,4 GHz according to the 802.11n standard). It allows to define this device, as the most high-speed among currently available.

In order to access web interface of the router, it is necessary for you to open Internet browser and type following: 192.168.1.1 in address field; the Username and Password – admin (if the router has factory settings, and it’s IP wasn’t modified).
